Museums – Aerospace

The following list of aerospace museums is heavily weighted with museums on the west coast of the U.S. and Canada.  For a definitive list of aerospace museums in the those two countries, see Michael A. Blaugher’s  Guide to Over 900 Aircraft Museums:  http://www.aircraftmuseums.com/.  In addition, see the two listings below, (1) Air & Space Museum Links and  (2) Landings: Aviation Museums.

  • Davidstow Moor RAF Memorial Museum: http://www.davidstowmemorialmuseum.co.uk/.  I visited this museum in September 2014.  Mr. David Keast, B.E.M., gave us a warm welcome.  The museum is packed with so much material from WWII that you can spend hours there.  Making it all the more meaningful, the old airfield and control tower are still there.
  • Hill Aerospace Museum, Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, Utah: http://www.hill.af.mil/library/museum/.  The members of the Air Forces Escape & Evasion Society (AFEES) visited this museum during their 2015 annual meeting and were duly impressed.  It has a tremendously diverse collection of all types of military aircraft.
